"We're going to have a baby. This summer, you'll have another baby brother or baby sister."
His eyes lit up, and he was so excited! "A baby brother?" he asked in a hopeful voice.
"We'll let Heavenly Father decide." He had to think about that for a minute, but then shrugged, as if thinking any baby is better than no baby.
Later in the morning, I was lying on the couch, trying to keep from throwing up (you see, as close as I've come, I've yet to actually throw up, and I'm afraid that once it starts, it won't stop!) I told Parker that sometimes the baby in my tummy makes me feel sick.
"Mine doesn't," he promptly answered. "It's a nice baby. And mine can go for a walk, so it's not in my tummy right now. Yours can go for a walk?"
"Nope! It's in my tummy all the time!" But, by then he was off playing again, with his nice baby.
We're all very excited about the pending addition to our family. Don't misunderstand us, we were perfectly content with our two little boys, but we're not going to complain about another one! We'd been feeling for awhile that we'd be having another child, but didn't have access to maternity insurance. We decided to put things in the Lord's hands, and according to his timetable. We told him that we were willing to do what he asked of us, but we needed him to provide the way. And well, things fell into place! I'm not sure how I feel about having a baby during the hottest part of the summer, but we're excited. We know it's the right thing to do--and that's the most important of all! I'm so grateful for a loving Heavenly Father with whom we can communicate to know the answers to so many of our questions. How could you do family planning otherwise? I'm grateful to know that Heavenly Father's willing to entrust us with another one of his sweet little spirits, and I hope that means we'll be up to it!
